Park Enerji entered this sector with a modular coal washing plant with a capacity of 100 tons/hour, which it established in the Tunçbilek mines in 1992 under a Build-Operate project, and thereafter operated other modular washing plants under Build-Operate projects in Soma/Manisa. between 1996 and 2006, and in Dodurga/Çorum between 1997 and 2002. These plants have washed 35,000,000 tones of coal until now.
Park Enerji proved that it can maximize the efficiency of a power plant by employing coal washing technology in the power plants, and by increasing the efficiency of the power plant from 48% to 81% with its coal washing and homogenization plant established for the Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant, which has a capacity of 300 tons/hour.
Park Enerji sustained it success in the thermal power plants in 2006 with the modular coal washing plant with a capacity of 300 tons/hour installed in Kütahya for enriching coal with low calories extracted by Seyitömer Lignite Enterprise to the design values of the Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant. This plant commissioned on 04.09.2006 is the first and only private company enterprise that provides washed coal for the Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant operated by the government, and has fulfilled its obligations.
Park Enerji also proved its success in hard coal as in lignite coals. In place of the coal washing plants of Turkish Hard Coal Authority, which have operated since 1957, two modular coal washing plants, which operate as a closed circuit system (which does not discharge any liquid outside the plant), the only such system in Turkey, each with a capacity of 300 tons/hour and equipped with filtration units, were installed by Park Enerji. These plants with filtration units increased the sellable coal production of the Turkish Hard Coal Authority from 50% to 56%.
Park Enerji has also undertaken to open a gallery in the Ömerler underground mine located in Tavşanlı District of Kütahya Province after signing a contract with TKİ in February, 2006. This project, consisting of opening a gallery with a length of 6,475 meters and installing a conveyor, culicar, monorail and shuttling trolley plant with a total length of 8,950 meters, was completed in June of 2010 upon completion of additional fortification and concrete works, and delivered to TKİ.
Park Enerji also decided to make investments in renewable energy resources and has obtained a license for a hydroelectric power plant with an installed capacity of 12 MW in Maran. Installation work of the power plant still continues.
Park Enerji completed construction of its 2-block business center with parking lots in Talimhane, Taksim, one block of which is used as the media building and the other block of which is rented to other companies.
The company acquired 99.84% of the total shares of Konya Ilgın Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti., which holds the operating license of a coal reserve site with coal capacity of 170 million tons and 2400–2500 calories in 2011. This shareholding will carry out production from the existing lignite reserves in the region in the next years and will install and operate a thermal power plant with a capacity of 500 MW.
